The Organization

Working with children, young people, supporters, and partners, Plan International strives for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. They support children's rights from birth until adulthood, enabling them to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. They drive changes in practice and policy at local, national, and global levels using their reach, experience, and knowledge.

The Opportunity

Plan International is embarking on an ambitious and exciting change process as part of their global strategy, "All Girls Standing Strong Creating Global Change" (FY23-FY27), to ensure that they remain relevant, bold, engaging, and effective in a dynamic and fast-changing global context.

The Regional Director will lead Plan International's strategies, programs, and operations in the MEESA region, which currently includes 15 Country Offices and a Regional Hub based in Nairobi, Kenya. The region has an annual budget of €220m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the MEESA region, ensuring alignment with Plan International's global strategy.
  • Oversee the implementation of programs and operations in the region, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services.
  • Drive changes in practice and policy at local, national, and global levels to advance children's rights and equality for girls.
  • Represent Plan International in the MEESA region, building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage the regional team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Plan International's policies and procedures, including safeguarding children and young people.

Qualifications and Experience
