REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Clinical Medicine and Community Health, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Certificate of registration from the Clinical Officers Council.

  • Valid professional practice license from the Clinical Officers Council.

  • Proven proficiency in computer applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Taking detailed patient histories, conducting examinations, and diagnosing common ailments.

  • Ordering and interpreting laboratory and imaging investigations to guide clinical decisions.

  • Treating patients in outpatient and inpatient facilities.

  • Collaborating with other health workers to provide comprehensive community healthcare.

  • Guiding and counseling patients, clients, and staff on critical health issues.

  • Sensitizing the community on preventive and promotive health measures.

  • Performing surgical procedures according to training and clinical skills.

  • Collecting and compiling accurate clinical data and preparing medico-legal briefs.

  • Referring patients to appropriate specialty facilities when necessary.
