Role Summary
Tranquil Med Center is seeking two (2) qualified Psychologists to play a critical role in delivering evidence-based psychological care. The ideal candidates will support a multidisciplinary approach to mental health treatment, working within a full-time capacity at their Nairobi facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Deliver evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-focused therapy,
and other appropriate interventions. - Lead group therapy sessions, family therapy, and psychoeducation programs for patients and caregivers.
- Supervise and mentor junior psychologists, interns, and departmental support staff.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in line with professional standards.
- Provide support during mental health emergencies and crises.
- Contribute to the planning, implementation, and review of clinical programs and departmental protocols.
- Participate in mental health outreach and wellness initiatives across institutions, schools, and workplaces.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counseling, or related field) from a recognized institution is required.
- A Master’s Degree in Psychology will be an added advantage.
- Additional professional certifications in mental health or related areas will be an added advantage.
- Must be registered and licensed to practice by the relevant regulatory body.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-licensure experience in a busy hospital setting.
- Demonstrated leadership, clinical judgment, and effective communication skills.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary mental health team is highly desirable.
