Job Summary
The Tutorial Fellow will be a key figure in the nursing and midwifery programs. The position involves teaching, curriculum development, research, and student supervision. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Medical-Surgical Nursing, a valid practice license, and a minimum of three years of teaching experience combined with two years of clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Training: Provide engaging teaching and training in the area of Midwifery & Obstetric Nursing.
Curriculum Development: Participate in the development and review of curricula to ensure they meet high standards.
Research and Fundraising: Engage in research, extension activities, and fundraising initiatives for the department.
Student Supervision: Provide mentorship and supervision to students, guiding their academic and professional growth.
Professional Development: Actively engage in continuous professional development activities.
Reporting: Report directly to the Head of Department and contribute to the achievement of departmental key performance indicators.
Other Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Medical-Surgical Nursing.
Valid practice license and registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and 2 years in clinical practice.
Proven experience in curriculum development, evaluation, and fostering a virtual learning environment.
Strong technical and soft skills, including excellent communication (written and verbal), effective facilitation, strong interpersonal skills, and IT competency.
Must possess integrity, commitment, a respectful approach to diversity, and collaborative teamwork skills.
