Job Summary
The Social Worker will be responsible for the welfare of girls from vulnerable backgrounds at the children's home. This role requires a professional with a passion for community work, a strong commitment to Christian values, and at least five years of experience in a similar institution. The ideal candidate will use their skills in counseling, communication, and problem-solving to provide comprehensive care and support.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide emotional and psychological support to girls from vulnerable backgrounds.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to the specific needs of each girl.
Conduct regular assessments and monitor the progress of the girls under your care.
Act as a mentor and role model, promoting positive behaviors and personal growth.
Maintain accurate and detailed case files and prepare comprehensive reports.
Collaborate with internal staff and external stakeholders to ensure the girls' well-being.
Organize and facilitate group sessions on topics such as personal hygiene, life skills, and emotional wellness.
Offer counseling and support, particularly in areas like counseling psychology, pastoral care, and HIV & Aids.
Respond to crises and provide immediate support in emergency situations.
Promote Christian values and a sense of community within the home.
Conduct outreach and engagement with the local community to support the home's mission.
Utilize problem-solving skills to address challenges and find effective solutions.
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents.
Use computer skills for administrative and reporting tasks.
Drive when necessary for errands related to the home's operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
A lady above 35 years old.
A holder of a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in social work and community development.
Must have attained a C- (minus) or above in the KCSE.
5 years of experience working in a children’s institution.
Registered with a relevant professional body.
Computer literate.
Driving skill.
High level of self-motivation, integrity, and professionalism.
Passion and commitment to work with vulnerable communities.
Effective communication, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications in counseling psychology, pastoral care, HIV & Aids, or First Aid are an added advantage.
