Job Summary
The Great Lakes Medical Centre is seeking a Radiographer / Sonographer to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This role requires proficiency in radiography, ultrasound, and computerized tomography, along with excellent communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will be committed to ensuring accurate imaging and delivering exceptional patient care.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform various diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, ultrasounds, and CT scans, as per physician orders.
- Position patients correctly and safely to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and calibration.
- Assess images for diagnostic quality and completeness, making adjustments as necessary.
- Explain procedures to patients clearly and empathetically to ensure their comfort and cooperation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs.
- Adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Collaborate effectively with medical officers and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient management.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report malfunctions promptly.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance programs and continuous professional development.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy are maintained at all times.
- Assist in managing imaging supplies and inventory.
- Provide preliminary interpretation of images for the referring physician where appropriate.
- Offer compassionate care and support to patients throughout the imaging process.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in radiography and sonography techniques.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Radiography and Imaging from a recognized institution.
- Registration and valid license by Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
- Proficiency in computer application skills.
- Working experience in diagnostic radiography, ultrasound, and computerized tomography.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality care and excellence.
