Job Summary

The Project Manager, SUPREME will provide strategic and technical leadership for the Unitaid-funded SUPREME project. This role requires robust project management skills to oversee the integration of priority interventions and products, ensuring improved availability and affordability of essential medicines, diagnostic technologies, and medical devices across multiple project countries.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide management, strategic direction, and leadership of the project in line with Unitaid guidelines.
  • Offer strategic oversight to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed timeframes and funding parameters.
  • Manage the project technical team and ensure alignment with the work plan.
  • Oversee the technical quality of all deliverables by sub-awardees.
  • Support work planning and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with implementing partners, governments, community organizations, commercial partners, and internal teams to plan and implement access plans.
  • Support the execution of market access strategies in LMICs, addressing barriers to access around policy, regulatory approval, implementation models, and financing.
  • Foster and nurture strategic partnerships, including with Unitaid, Ministries of Health, local organizations, and the private sector.
  • Manage relationships with consortium partners and ensure quality deliverables are met per the project award agreement.
  • Serve as the principal contact person for Unitaid, nurturing and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Synthesize findings from implementation research, develop investment cases and cost-impact models, and engage with key stakeholders to garner buy-in.
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and adaptive learning of project activities to ensure high-quality, results-driven implementation.
  • Represent Amref Health Africa in relevant meetings and technical working groups.
  • Lead the development of quarterly reports and donor presentations, ensuring timely and high-quality documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Work with other Advisors, including the MEL Advisors, to perform technical program reviews and identify improvement steps.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master's degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing/Midwifery, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in applying MNCH, specifically with demand- and supply-side barriers to the introduction and rapid uptake of innovations programming.
  • Experience in coordinating a complex, multi-country, multi-partner project.
  • Strong understanding, familiarity, and experience implementing Unitaid-funded projects.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team across different cultures.
  • Proven ability to thrive in complex, fast-paced environments while managing multiple priorities, meeting tight deadlines, and delivering high-quality results under pressure.
  • Ability to interact with established networks of senior-level global health professionals.
  • Skilled in field-oriented programming and comfortable working collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Exceptional reporting and analytical skills.
  • Solid decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.
