💰 Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 39,700 – 52,950 per month
Allowances: As per the SRC circulars attached to the position.

Job Summary

The Nursing Officer will be responsible for providing holistic nursing care across the lifespan, conducting risk assessments, performing physical examinations, developing and implementing evidence-based nursing care plans, ensuring a safe care environment, conducting community health risk assessments, referring patients appropriately, facilitating admissions and discharges, and maintaining accurate nursing records within the health facilities of Nakuru County.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing holistic care to individuals throughout their lifespan by carrying out thorough risk identification and assessment.
  • Performing comprehensive physical examinations in various healthcare settings to gather essential patient information.
  • Assessing, formulating, planning, and implementing evidence-based nursing care for each client/patient based on their unique needs.
  • Ensuring a safe nursing care environment for the well-being and protection of the client/patient.
  • Conducting community health risk assessments to identify health issues within the community and providing outcome-based interventions.
  • Referring patients and clients appropriately to other healthcare professionals or specialists when necessary.
  • Facilitating patients' admission processes into healthcare facilities and initiating discharge plans for a smooth transition of care.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed nursing records on patients’/clients’ personal and health condition/care provided.

Qualifications & Requirements

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in either Nursing or Midwifery from a recognized institution.
  • A Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • A Valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • A Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
