Job Summary
The Health Administrative Officer II will be responsible for providing and maintaining hospital facilities, compiling work plans and budgets, preparing financial reports, managing transport and logistics, overseeing patient welfare and security, contributing to the overall management of health institutions, and maintaining health administrative service standards within the health facilities of Nakuru County.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing and maintaining facilities to ensure a functional and conducive environment within the hospital, and overseeing the general upkeep of the hospital premises.
- Compiling quarterly and annual work plans to guide departmental activities and developing associated budgets for resource allocation.
- Compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual facility improvement funds reports, ensuring accurate financial tracking and accountability.
- Managing transport and logistics related to hospital operations, including vehicle maintenance and scheduling.
- Overseeing patients’ welfare by ensuring their security and addressing their non-medical needs within the healthcare facility.
- Contributing to the overall management of the hospital/health institution by supporting various administrative functions.
- Maintaining health administrative service standards within the hospital/health institution to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- or its equivalent with at least a C in English/Kiswahili and Mathematics, or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields from a recognized institution: Health Management, Health Service and Health Systems Management, Health economics, hospital administration, business administration, public administration, or an equivalent qualification.
- A Certificate in computer Application skills from a recognized institution.
