Role Summary
Focus Clinical & Diagnostics Centre Ltd is looking to hire a passionate and patient-dedicated Clinical Officer to support their clinical services. The successful candidate will provide healthcare to patients and continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care to meet patient treatment goals.
Specific Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients by history taking, physical examination, and ordering appropriate investigations to enable better diagnostic and therapeutic medical care and services.
- Promote rational drug use through the use of MOH (Ministry of Health) treatment guidelines.
- Attend to emergencies presenting to the clinic and recommend referrals for cases that cannot be managed as per MOH guidelines.
- Ensure that all required observations and vitals, prescribed treatment, and procedures are carried out and documented on patients' records/electronic medical records (EMR).
- Boost patient experiences through patient education, counselling, sensitizing patients through health talks, and promoting prevention and early detection.
- Periodically initiate and participate in clinical research activities through Continuous Medical Education (CME's), institutional quality improvement, and patient safety activities.
- Participate in regular external health talks as part of continuous patient education.
- Collaborate with relevant consultants to arrive at the best treatment plans for specialized cases.
- Participate in the review and development of appropriate policies and procedures for patients' health care to formulate best practice guidelines.
Relevant Education and Experience Required
- At least a diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience as a clinical officer.
- Must be registered with the Clinical Officers Council and possess an active practicing licence.
