Job Purpose
The Physiotherapist will assess, plan, and implement specialized rehabilitation programs to restore physical function, maximize mobility, and improve the overall well-being of patients recovering from injury, major surgery, or chronic clinical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Assessment & Diagnosis
Functional Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, strength testing, and range-of-motion functional assessments.
Clinical Diagnosis: Diagnose movement dysfunctions, analyze patient clinical histories, and establish realistic, measurable treatment goals.
2. Treatment & Rehabilitation
Individualized Programs: Develop and execute customized physical therapy plans tailored to patients' unique recovery timelines.
Therapeutic Interventions: Administer hands-on manual therapy, targeted exercise prescription, and advanced electrotherapy modalities.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate patient progress, adjust treatment parameters as required, and manage patients' pain profiles.
3. Patient Education & Preventive Care
Home Exercise Programs (HEPs): Formulate and teach easy-to-follow home exercises to encourage patient autonomy and continued recovery.
Ergonomics & Posture: Educate patients and corporate clients on proper posture, workplace ergonomics, and preventive movement strategies.
4. Collaboration & Documentation
Multidisciplinary Alignment: Partner with orthopedists, pediatricians, physicians, and nurses to maintain holistic care pathways.
EMR Records: Maintain meticulous, confidential, and up-to-date patient records, treatment notes, progress charts, and final discharge summaries.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc. Physiotherapy) or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited university.
Valid, active registration and a current practicing license from the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya (PCK) or equivalent relevant professional body.
Minimum of two to three (2–3) years of continuous clinical practice experience as a physiotherapist.
Prior experience successfully operating within a busy hospital, acute rehabilitation center, or outpatient clinic setup is highly preferred.
Deep practical knowledge of manual therapy, exercise prescription, and standard physiotherapy equipment operations.
Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with exceptional active listening and interpersonal skills.
