Job Summary
The Health Records Officer (Front Office) will manage the dual mandates of premium customer service and meticulous medical data coordination. The position involves greeting patients, executing flawless front-desk triage routing, managing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) indexing, and handling specialized medical insurance authorizations and claims vetting.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Reception & Triaging: Warmly welcome patients, resolve primary front-desk inquiries, register new clients, and guide individuals to appropriate clinical consultation wings.
Health Records Management: Code, index, file, and retrieve computerized and physical patient files securely in absolute alignment with data protection acts and hospital privacy laws.
Insurance Verification & Invoicing: Review patient biometric entries and confirm current insurance validities prior to clinician deployment.
Slade & SHA Claims Processing: Handle, verify, format, and execute healthcare pre-authorizations and final medical claims submissions using specialized digital portals, including Slade and the Social Health Authority (SHA) frameworks.
Data Auditing: Review daily outpatient volumes, identify record duplicate errors, log clinic downtime metrics, and compile routine front-office data summaries for management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma in Health Records and Information Management, Front Office Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related professional discipline from a recognized institution.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant working experience in health records or front-office operations specifically inside a busy, high-volume hospital or medical facility setup.
Mandatory Technical Competency: Direct hands-on familiarity and operational experience processing medical claims via Slade Claims Processing and SHA (Social Health Authority) Claims Processing architectures.
Masterful interpersonal and people skills with a calm, deeply professional demeanor when dealing with anxious or unwell clients.
Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication competencies paired with high-speed typing and computer literacy.
