Job Summary
The Community Health Development Tutor will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering a comprehensive curriculum in Community Health and Development. The incumbent will lead classroom lectures, facilitate group projects, evaluate student performances through coursework and examinations, and mentor student clinicians to ensure they meet the regulatory standards of the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lecturing & Lesson Delivery: Plan, coordinate, and deliver engaging lectures and practical demonstrations in Community Health and Development.
Curriculum Alignment: Develop and update comprehensive course outlines, lesson plans, and teaching aids in alignment with TVET and national training guidelines.
Student Assessment: Formulate, administer, and grade continuous assessment tests (CATs), terminal examinations, and practical assignments fairly and promptly.
Mentorship & Advising: Provide dedicated academic guidance and career counseling, helping students navigate their academic goals and transition smoothly into the field.
Departmental Support: Participate actively in institutional staff meetings, curriculum review boards, and community outreach health projects led by the college.
Qualifications & Requirements
Relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health and Development, Public Health, Global Health, or a closely related medical discipline from a recognized institution.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively teach and relate with students, colleagues, and administration.
Strong organizational, classroom-management, and lesson-planning capabilities.
Natural passion for teaching, student mentorship, and driving holistic learning outcomes.
Added Advantages
Direct, prior teaching or tutoring experience within a registered Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution in Kenya.
