Job Summary
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing comprehensive rehabilitative services to patients, helping them to develop or regain the skills necessary for daily tasks and independent function. This role involves meticulous patient assessment, the development of individualized care plans, and the implementation of various therapeutic interventions. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Physiotherapy and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a busy hospital setting.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform thorough assessments on all clients' conditions and evaluate to determine the necessity of physiotherapy interventions.
Develop an appropriate plan for care and a comprehensive range of wellness physiotherapy services tailored to the patient's needs.
Implement effective assessment, treatment, and evaluation/rehabilitation services consistent with established standards of practice.
Regularly measure and evaluate a patient's progress by looking for signs of decreased stiffness, pain, and discomfort.
Provide skilled physical therapy treatment plans strictly in accordance with physician orders.
Assure continuation of the therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs.
Instruct patients and recommend and/or provide assistive equipment to aid recovery.
Recommend appropriate follow-up programs to maintain patient progress.
Promptly and thoroughly document and maintain clinical records regarding patient limitations, treatments, responses, and progress.
Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries for all patients.
Qualifications & Requirements
A Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
A Higher National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy is an added advantage.
Must have valid membership and hold a valid practicing license with the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists.
Minimum of 5 years of working experience in the relevant field.
At least 4 years’ relevant experience in a busy hospital setting.
Strong knowledge of physiotherapy methods and equipment.
Excellent understanding of movement, injuries, disabilities, and the ageing process.
Caring, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
Excellent communication skills and leadership aptitude.
