Job Summary
The Assistant Public Health Officer III will be responsible for implementing public health strategies at the community level. This role involves educating communities on health issues, carrying out immunization, and implementing measures to control vectors and diseases. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Environmental Health Science or Public Health Inspection and be registered with a relevant regulatory body.
Duties & Responsibilities
Mobilize, sensitize, and advise communities on matters related to environmental health.
Refer health cases to appropriate health facilities for further care.
Carry out immunization exercises within the community.
Identify and address environmental health issues at the community level.
Organize community health days to advise residents on common public health issues.
Collect and maintain up-to-date records of services rendered.
Assess the specific health needs of the community.
Implement effective vector, vermin, and rodent control measures.
Implement integrated mosquito control strategies to prevent diseases like malaria.
Qualifications & Requirements
A Diploma in either Environmental Health Science or Public Health Inspection from a recognized institution.
A Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Must be registered by a relevant regulatory body.
Must have a valid Practicing Certificate.
A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values and principles of the Kenyan Constitution, 2010.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
