Job Summary
Flexi-Personnel is seeking highly motivated and skilled Research Assistants for the upcoming Pep Project, a critical study to be conducted in June and July 2025. This contract position requires individuals who can effectively administer surveys, conduct in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, and manage data with precision. The project spans 11 counties across Kenya, necessitating a willingness to travel and reside away from home for extended periods. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about public health research and data management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer surveys efficiently and accurately using digital platforms such as KoBoCollect or similar tools.
- Conduct in-depth interviews (IDIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) with healthcare workers, ensuring comprehensive and insightful data capture.
- Transcribe audio recordings from interviews verbatim, maintaining high levels of accuracy and detail.
- Perform thorough data entry, cleaning, and verification to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of all collected data.
- Provide support for other administrative tasks related to the project as needed, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the research.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Anthropology, Population Studies/Demography, Statistics, Epidemiology, Community Development, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting surveys, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews.
- Experience working specifically with healthcare professionals during data collection will be considered an added advantage.
- You must be a resident of at least one of the listed counties: Narok, Turkana, Wajir, West Pokot, Tana River, Trans Nzoia, Marsabit, Bomet, Kwale, Nairobi, or Mombasa.
- Must be willing to travel to other counties within the project's scope and spend up to 20 consecutive days away from your home location.
- Proven skills in quantitative data collection and analysis are essential, with familiarity with statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, or R.
- Proven skills in qualitative data collection and analysis are also required, with familiarity with qualitative analysis software like Nvivo or Atlas.ti.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines consistently.
- Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, along with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a culturally diverse team.
- Proficiency in written and and spoken English is mandatory for effective communication and documentation.
