Job Summary
The Samburu County Public Service Board is inviting applications for a Medical Specialist (Obstetrics/Gynecology). This is a critical role for providing specialized care in women's health within Samburu County. The specialist will be responsible for a wide range of duties including patient review, diagnosis, treatment, surgical interventions, medical education, and community health initiatives, all while adhering to the highest medical standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing Patients and instructing in writing all the necessary recommendations.
- Diagnosing, investigating, treating, and documenting Patient cases comprehensively.
- Disseminating information for Health care to patients and the community.
- Conducting weekly Clinics and Theatre days for specialized procedures.
- Responding to Intern calls, providing guidance and support.
- Training, supervising, and mentoring (Family Physicians' Interns) and Students, contributing to medical education.
- Performing emergency surgeries as required.
- Undertaking medical legal duties, ensuring adherence to legal frameworks.
- Undertaking medical examinations for various purposes.
- Preparing Medical Board Proceedings as necessary.
- Carrying out Community diagnosis, care, and treatment, extending services beyond the hospital.
- Ensuring data and information is collected, transmitted, and utilized to benefit the Customer and Service Provider.
- Conducting disease surveillance, prevention, and control.
- Carrying out Health Education and promotion and preparing Medical reports.
Requirements for Appointment
- Be a Kenyan Citizen.
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B. Ch. B) Degree from an Institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Master's Degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Valid Practicing License from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- At least one year post specialization working experience.
- Registration Certificate by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
- Have a Certificate in Computer proficiency from a recognized Institution.
