One of the core duties of World bank is enabling Middle income and low income countries achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and to achieve this those countries need capacitation through financial aids, man power, guidance and essential products.
HNP staff work tirelessly in conjuction with the Ministries of health in those member states fostering a good environment for achieving the Universal Health Coverage.
In Africa World Bank has deployed managers accross 13 African countries some of them are South Africa, DRC and Kenya
In Kenya the HNP Staff will particulary deal with reproductive health, MCH, Streghthening MCH, Healthcare financing, Non Communicable diseases, Pandemic preparedness, health emergencies and manafacturing of Pharmaceutical and non pgharmaceutical products.

The successful candidate will report to the Practce manager Eastern and Southern Africa (HAEH2). The Candidate will support the duty team team in Kenya. The Health Specialist will subject all members of staff to World Bank regulations and guidelines.

Duties And Responsibilities
Succesful candidates will be tasked with the following tasks:- Cordinate implementation of World Bank Operations at National Level and County Level.
- Review and compliment the work program of advisory services.
- Effectively represent World Bank in exceutive meetings and country activiivities related to HNP sector.
- Contribute inputs related the HNP program of World Bank like countryb reviews, briefings and background checks.
- In respresentation of the Practice amnger in Kenya suppport implementation of the Healthcare programs and setting up healthcare portofolio.
- Conribute to implementation of HNP portfolio in Kenya which covers Emergency response preparations, Building responsive healthcare systems, and the Kenya Covid 19 Health Emergency Projects.
- Assist the government of Kenya in monitoring the projects, identify chanllenges and suggesting solutions to those problems.
- Support the government of Kenya in providing technical support in regulating the Pharmaceutical amnufacturing indutry.
- Work closely with the Ministry of Health Kenya and County Goernments to provide technical support of the on going projects as well as cordinate project funding through Global finacing Facility (GFF)
- Design and provide timely reports concerning the implemented projects and spport missions.
- Contribute and support the drafting of analytical framework for the Pharmaceutical Industries in Kenya as needed.
- Work closely with task leaders as well as the Country Mangement Unit.
Qualifications
Interested candidates should meet the following:- Bachelors degree in Medicine, Pharmacy or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Strong understanding of the the pharmaceutical manufacturing reguations in Kenya.
- Ability to lead and deliver effective analytical work.
- Excellent communication skills
- Time Management.
