Akros is a ground level NGO serving in Kenya fully funded by Master Card and Africa CDC.
Akros focuses mainly on improving the health state of the disadvantaged  communities in Africa by having favourable research programs to eradicate health challenges mostly faced in Africa. Though the Research Akros is able to provide sustainable and long lasting solutions to the health challenges in Africa.

Specifically Akros has a self initiative that ensures effective procurement, distribution and promotion of Vaccines is done in a safe manner.

In addition Akros supports AU Member countries, Kenya being one of them to strengthen vaccine safety surveillance systems.

Job Overview

The Pharmacovigilance Akros will be tasked with supporting the research activities locally, implementing and coordinating program activities locally, Ensuring the AKROS initiative of procuring, distributing and distributing vaccines is safely done . Work closely with other key player in the sector to optimize operations flow.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with the key stakeholders which include MOH, WHO and other sub national levels.
  • Work closely with Kenya MoH Division of Vaccines and Immunization and Pharmacy and Poisons Board for scaling up for upcoming activities.
  • Coordinate procurement process from National level to the sub County levels within the Country.
  • Work with the Kenya MoH Division of vaccines and Immunizations and Pharmacies and Poisons Board to ensure that all activities are well delivered and done.
  • Identify problems during implementation process and ensure you come up with effective solutions to the problems by sharing them with the key stakeholders.
  • Maintain close communication with the staff at the Division of Vaccines and Immunization.
  • Ensure all records are up to date and kept well.
  • Engage Akros research team to ensure the program is well delivered and also give detailed reports on leadership.
  • Assist in Evidence generation, this is through data collection, data analysis and data uses.
  • Perform any other duty as it may be required.

Qualifications

Interested Candidates Must have the Following:
  • Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy  Or Masters degree in Pharmacy, Public Health & Monitoring and Evaluation or any other relevant field.
  • Previous experience with program management.
  • Experience working with senior government officials within the Ministry of Health donors, Counties and Sub County donors.
  • Previous Experience with project and organizational presentation to MoH at National level.
  • Excellent technical writing, quantitative and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent computer skills with fluency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Candidate should be highly productive and internally motivated
  • Candidate should work well against complex and challenging delivery schedules
  • Candidate should be culturally adaptable and sensitive
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal instruction in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to productively communicate remotely
  • Kenyan  Citizens
