Job Overview
The successful candidate will be tasked with a key roles in financial, budgetary and internal control departments. The accountant will be part of the project management team and assist the team in planning function by preparing budget plan for effective budget implementation. The accountant will be technically reporting to the various departmental head as well as undertake any task assigned by to him by the Supervisors.

Duties And Responsibilities.
Successful candidates will have the following tasks:
- Prepare and present budget for budget approval.
- Comply and adhere to all budget process guidelines and procedures.
- Modify departmental budgets where necessary.
- Issues analysis of forecasted budgets on time and trend analysis.
- Assist departmental heads in identifying the discrepancies between the budget draft and the actual budget.
- Craft new budgeting models and policies to ensure efficient planning process.
- Implement effective financial controls for the TREE Project.
- Provide guidelines on effective budget formulation and implementation for the TREE Project.
- Revising and craft annual budget plans for effective controls.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department, Financial controllers and Project directors in the event of financial audit by providing all the necessary documents.
- Effectively use accounting knowledge to modify and design financial data systems.
- On timely preparation of budget spreadsheets, financial reports and budget activity reports.
- Analyze all departmental budgets and and compile all departmental reports into one report.
- Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor, financial controller or program controller.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Commerce (B.Com) with major in Finance/Accounts as an added advantage.
- CPA-K Certification
- Previous experience in budgeting role or account is an added advantage.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills in Excel spreadsheets, Access database, Word processing and MS Suite.
- Exposure in project accounting, financial management, grant budgets is an added advantage.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills
- Time management skills
- Adaptability and flexibility.
- A quick learner.
