Key Responsibilities
Ultrasound Procedures: Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound scans in accordance with established clinical protocols and Joint Commission International (JCI) quality standards.
Patient Care & Safety: Provide clear, empathetic pre-procedural explanations to patients. Adequately prepare and continuously monitor patient conditions throughout the imaging session.
Image Management: Ensure all captured scans are promptly uploaded and structured within the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to facilitate rapid reporting.
Machine Asset Care: Conduct routine daily calibrations, document and report technical faults immediately to engineering teams, and verify equipment safety after maintenance services.
Data Log Maintenance: Keep precise, computerized logs of daily procedure volumes, environmental conditions, and machine downtime.
Quality Compliance: Actively participate in departmental quality improvement audits and peer-review initiatives aimed at minimizing scanning errors and enhancing diagnostic precision.
Qualifications & Requirements
Higher Diploma in Medical Imaging Science (Ultrasound specialization).
Base Degree or Diploma in Medical Imaging Science / Radiography from a recognized training institution.
Valid professional registration with the Society of Radiography in Kenya (SORK).
Active practicing license from the Radiation Protection Board (RPB).
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum of two (2) years of active hands-on experience operating within a busy, high-volume, and well-established Radiology department.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, computer literacy, and the capability to handle executive-level patient workflows with high discretion.
