Job Summary
The Clinical Officer is responsible for providing high-quality medical care and patient management within MOHI's community health framework. This role requires a professional who is not only clinically competent but also tech-savvy and capable of demonstrating leadership in a busy work environment. The successful candidate will manage patient cases with excellence while upholding the organization's core spiritual and professional values.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients from disadvantaged communities.
Demonstrate exceptional patient management skills to ensure holistic recovery and care.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records, utilizing tech-savvy solutions for data management.
Lead and coordinate clinical activities within the health center, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
Manage and supervise junior clinical staff and health volunteers as required.
Ensure all clinical practices comply with the Clinical Officer’s Council standards and national health protocols.
Adapt medical interventions to suit the diverse cultural and educational backgrounds of the Mathare Valley community.
Collaborate with other MOHI departments to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to family and child welfare.
Maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the organization’s Christian mission.
Manage time and clinical resources efficiently to serve a high volume of patients.
Handle emergency cases with a high degree of initiative, flexibility, and tolerance.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized training institution.
Must possess a valid practicing license from the Clinical Officer’s Council.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a busy clinical or hospital work environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage people (added advantage).
Strong technical proficiency and ability to work with modern health information systems.
Excellent communication, presentation, and organization skills.
High level of motivation and a firm commitment to Christian values.
Ability to work effectively within a team and tolerate high-pressure environments.
