NCMTC is currently seeking a highly experienced and competent Senior Trainer to join its faculty. Job Summary
The Senior Trainer will coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all training activities at the college. The role involves leading curriculum development, mentoring junior trainers, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare professional with a proven track record in training and an administrative role.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all training programs.
Ensure strict adherence to college policies and procedures and guidelines from regulatory bodies.
Support the training manager and principal in all communication with regulatory bodies.
Lead the development of syllabi and timetables for various training programs.
Supervise and support the development and review of all learning materials.
Supervise and support the assessment of student learning, including planning and material development.
Contribute to the curriculum development and review process.
Guide and coach junior staff to ensure the effective learning of students.
Participate in the training and assessment of students, including preparing lessons and conducting lectures.
Mentor, guide, and advise students on their learning and development of professional behavior.
Participate in other activities related to teaching, learning, and related research.
Provide and/or coordinate e-learning and blended learning sessions (added advantage).
Ensure the use of NCMTC teaching and learning methodologies.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments in healthcare.
Qualifications & Requirements
A Higher Diploma or BSc in Nursing, Orthopedic and Trauma Medicine, Peri-Operative Technology, Physiotherapy, Clinical Medicine, or a related field.
A Higher Diploma in medical education or health professional education is mandatory.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing healthcare services.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in training healthcare workers, with at least 1 year in an administrative role.
Must be registered and in good standing with the relevant regulatory body, and/or the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority (KHPOA).
Must be registered as a trainer with TVETA.
Proven leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent skills in using training-related computer systems and software.
Excellent communication skills in both written and oral English and Kiswahili.
A strong team player with a passion for helping others grow and develop.
