Job Summary
The Nutrition & Dietician Officer will be responsible for implementing various nutrition programs and providing essential services in healthcare facilities. This role involves conducting nutrition assessments, collecting data, providing health education, and counseling patients with specific dietary needs. The successful candidate will have a diploma in a nutrition-related field and be registered with the Council of the Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians (CIND).
Duties & Responsibilities
Implement and manage nutrition programs within the county.
Provide nutrition services in various healthcare facilities.
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients.
Collect and compile nutrition data for analysis and reporting.
Provide nutrition health education and practical demonstrations.
Counsel patients with specific nutritional needs, such as those with chronic illnesses.
Monitor the preparation of therapeutic feeds for hospitalized patients.
Prepare monthly reports and monitor the progress of nutrition programs.
Implement outpatient and inpatient supplementary and therapeutic feeding programs.
Promote maternal, infant, and young children feeding programs and provide micronutrient supplementation.
Qualifications & Requirements
A Diploma in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, or Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized institution.
A Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution.
Registration by the Council of the Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians (CIND).
A valid practicing license.
A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values and principles of the Kenyan Constitution, 2010.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
