Job Summary
The Midwife Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive midwifery services, demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous learning and development. This role requires an individual with a higher diploma in Midwifery and a minimum of two years of experience. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of sexual and reproductive health and the ability to work effectively in a team, all while maintaining high levels of professionalism and confidentiality.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive midwifery care with proven clinical experience.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of neonatal resuscitation equipment, such as ventilators and incubators.
Demonstrate the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Uphold a high regard for confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of work.
Communicate effectively, both in writing and speech.
Show a strong commitment to excellent client care and the delivery of client-focused services.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all tasks.
Demonstrate professionalism in managing clients.
Function as a team player, accepting and giving constructive criticism.
Remain calm and composed under pressure.
Be able to work flexibly to meet service needs.
Provide counseling and education on various sexual and reproductive health issues.
Ensure all procedures adhere to the highest standards of safety and care.
Participate in professional development to keep skills and knowledge current.
Qualifications & Requirements
A KRCHN / KRN / BSN nursing qualification.
A Higher Diploma in KRM.
Must be registered and hold a current license with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
A minimum of 2 years of working experience in midwifery.
A Certificate in CEmONC training and/or NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) is mandatory.
A current BLS/PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) certificate is a plus.
Practicing knowledge of Sexual Reproductive Health is an advantage.
