Job Summary
The Community Health Assistant III will be responsible for collecting health data at the household level, maintaining community health unit registers, and identifying common ailments. This role involves educating communities on health interventions, monitoring the growth of young children, and referring cases to appropriate health facilities. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in a relevant field and proficiency in computer applications.
Duties & Responsibilities
Collect health-related data at the household level for analysis and reporting.
Maintain and update community health unit registers and records.
Identify common ailments and minor injuries at the community level.
Identify and refer health cases to the appropriate health facilities.
Visit homes to assess the health situation and engage in dialogue with household members.
Identify and sensitize communities on important health interventions.
Monitor the growth and development of children under the age of five years.
Identify defaulters of health interventions and refer them to appropriate health facilities for follow-up.
Manage community health resource centers.
Convene and coordinate monthly community meetings and action days.
Qualifications & Requirements
A Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Community Health, Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Community Development, or Health Promotion and Education from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in Computer Applications Skills from a recognized institution.
A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values and principles of the Kenyan Constitution, 2010.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
