Job Summary

Equity Afia Nakuru is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support the dental team and ensure the efficient operation of the dental clinic. The role requires either a Certificate in Dental Assisting or at least two years of experience in a busy dental facility. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and customer service skills, contributing to a positive and professional environment for patients and staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting the dentist during examinations and procedures, including preparing instruments and materials.

  • Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment after each use.

  • Preparing the patient for dental treatment by seating them and ensuring their comfort.

  • Taking and developing dental radiographs (X-rays).

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient dental records.

  • Providing post-operative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.

  • Managing dental supplies and inventory, ensuring that necessary materials are always available.

  • Performing infection control and maintaining a clean and safe dental environment.

  • Scheduling patient appointments and managing patient communication.

  • Offering excellent customer service and ensuring a positive patient experience.

  • Assisting with laboratory tasks such as pouring impressions and trimming models.

  • Providing patients with pre-operative and post-operative information.

  • Ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy are maintained at all times.

  • Collaborating with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective workflow.

  • Contributing to a supportive and professional team environment.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate in Dental Assisting or a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a busy dental facility as a dental assistant.

  • Good customer service skills.

  • Good communication skills.
