Job Summary
Equity Afia Nakuru is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support the dental team and ensure the efficient operation of the dental clinic. The role requires either a Certificate in Dental Assisting or at least two years of experience in a busy dental facility. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and customer service skills, contributing to a positive and professional environment for patients and staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assisting the dentist during examinations and procedures, including preparing instruments and materials.
Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment after each use.
Preparing the patient for dental treatment by seating them and ensuring their comfort.
Taking and developing dental radiographs (X-rays).
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient dental records.
Providing post-operative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
Managing dental supplies and inventory, ensuring that necessary materials are always available.
Performing infection control and maintaining a clean and safe dental environment.
Scheduling patient appointments and managing patient communication.
Offering excellent customer service and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Assisting with laboratory tasks such as pouring impressions and trimming models.
Providing patients with pre-operative and post-operative information.
Ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy are maintained at all times.
Collaborating with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
Contributing to a supportive and professional team environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Certificate in Dental Assisting or a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a busy dental facility as a dental assistant.
Good customer service skills.
Good communication skills.
