Job Summary
The Cleaners will be responsible for maintaining a hygienic and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. These roles are open to candidates with a high school certificate (KCSE) and at least one year of experience working in a hospital setting. The successful candidates will be part of a caring team dedicated to putting patients first.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain a clean and tidy environment by cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, offices, and public areas.
Follow strict cleaning protocols and procedures, with a particular focus on infection control.
Handle and dispose of garbage and hazardous waste, including bio-hazards, according to established protocols.
Replenish supplies such as paper towels, hand soap, and toilet paper.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Dust and clean all surfaces, including ledges, shelves, and walls.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
Use and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies properly.
Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to support a safe and efficient environment.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Respect the privacy and dignity of patients at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
High school certificate (KCSE) or equivalent.
A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting.
Proven ability to follow strict cleaning protocols and procedures.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical fitness and the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.
A high level of professionalism and integrity.
