Job Summary
The Great Lakes Medical Centre is looking for a Receptionist to manage the front office operations and provide exceptional customer service. This role requires a professional with a Diploma in computer science, public relations, digital communications, or front office, along with strong computer proficiency. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience while upholding the hospital’s commitment to high-quality care.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments,
managing the appointment book effectively. - Answer incoming phone calls, redirecting them to the appropriate department or individual.
- Provide accurate information to patients regarding hospital services, policies, and procedures.
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve issues or escalate them to relevant staff members.
- Maintain organized and accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality.
- Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and faxes.
- Keep the reception area clean, tidy, and organized.
- Liaise with various hospital departments to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Assist in general administrative tasks as required.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort in the waiting area.
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, even under pressure.
- Operate office equipment such as computers, printers, and multi-line phone systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in either Computer Science, Public Relations, Digital Communications, or Front Office from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer application skills.
