Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician at Lions SightFirst Eye Hospital will be responsible for accurately preparing and dispensing medications, managing pharmaceutical inventory, and collaborating with pharmacists and other healthcare staff. This role is crucial in ensuring safe medication use and supporting patient education for optimal treatment adherence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications to patients.
- Manage and monitor pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other healthcare staff to ensure safe medication use.
- Support patient education and adherence to treatment plans, providing necessary information and guidance.
- Adhere to all relevant pharmacy laws and clinical practices in Kenya.
- Maintain organized and accurate pharmacy records.
- Assist in ordering and receiving pharmaceutical supplies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
- Assist with other pharmacy-related tasks as assigned by the pharmacist or supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
- Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
- At least 3 years' experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.
- Good knowledge of pharmacy laws and clinical practices in Kenya.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
