Job Summary
The Great Lakes Medical Centre is looking for 2 Pharmaceutical Technologists to ensure high-quality pharmaceutical services within the facility. These roles involve accurate dispensing, inventory management, and patient counseling, all while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory standards. Successful candidates will be proficient in computer applications and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients.
- Provide clear and comprehensive counseling to patients on medication usage, storage, and potential side effects.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for all pharmaceutical products, ensuring adherence to temperature and security requirements.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, monitor stock levels, and manage expiry dates to prevent waste and ensure availability.
- Assist in ordering and receiving pharmaceutical supplies, verifying accuracy against invoices.
- Prepare extemporaneous compounds as needed, following strict aseptic techniques and guidelines.
- Adhere to all regulations and guidelines set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Document all dispensing activities and patient interactions accurately in electronic or manual records.
- Collaborate with medical staff to clarify prescriptions and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Identify and report any adverse drug reactions or medication errors to the appropriate authorities.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training to stay updated with best practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide professional customer service.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is upheld at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Registered and with a valid license with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
