Job Summary

Jubilee Health Insurance Limited is seeking a proactive and organized Underwriter, Client Support to be responsible for the timely setup, renewal, servicing, support, documentation, and management of schemes on ACTi sure. This role involves handling related queries from clients and intermediaries on existing schemes, providing dedicated and comprehensive service with a proactive approach to ensure business retention by meeting set service timelines while strictly adhering to and enforcing underwriting guidelines and controls.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Timely set-up of new client schemes on the ACTi sure system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required information.
  • Efficiently manage the renewal process for existing schemes, ensuring timely communication and adherence to established timelines.
  • Provide comprehensive servicing and support to clients and intermediaries, addressing their queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure accurate and organized documentation of all scheme-related information, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively manage client and intermediary queries related to existing schemes, providing clear and concise information and solutions.
  • Take a proactive approach in engaging with intermediaries and clients to build strong relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Actively work towards business retention of existing schemes by consistently meeting or exceeding set service timelines and expectations.
  • Strictly adhere to and enforce underwriting guidelines and controls in all aspects of scheme setup, renewal, and servicing.
  • Assist in developing and executing product innovation strategies that are aligned with overall business objectives and market trends.
  • Contribute to market research and competitive analysis efforts to identify potential product opportunities and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate on long-term strategic planning initiatives focused on product portfolio expansion and achieving market differentiation.
  • Oversee and contribute to actuarial analyses to ensure robust and sustainable product pricing models.
  • Support the management and thorough review of existing product portfolios, ensuring continuous improvement and ongoing market relevance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative medical insurance products that meet evolving customer needs.
  • Assist in the management of pricing models and frameworks to ensure both market competitiveness and overall profitability.
  • Participate in regular pricing reviews and adjustments based on dynamic market conditions and established business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with underwriting, claims, and sales teams to optimize product alignment and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, internal company policies, and industry best practices in product development and pricing strategies.
  • Maintain transparency in all pricing methodologies, ensuring robust documentation and comprehensive reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise effectively with regulatory bodies to secure all necessary product approvals and maintain ongoing compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional project teams to foster strong collaboration, drive innovation, and ensure clear accountability across different departments and the wider Group.

  • Ensure that robust operational compliance programs are effectively in place within your specific department.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes and strong controls that actively promote full compliance with all external laws, applicable regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Foster a strong and robust ethical culture within the organization, consistently leading by example through the demonstration and active promotion of ethical behaviour, unwavering integrity, and full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Encourage open and transparent communication and the prompt reporting of any potential compliance concerns or suspected violations within the organization.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced Risk Evaluation and Underwriting Judgment.
  • In-depth understanding of medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, and various treatment plans.
  • Comprehensive Reinsurance Knowledge and the ability to effectively apply Treaty Application principles to manage exposure and optimize portfolio risk.
  • Strong Data Interpretation skills and proficiency in utilizing relevant Underwriting Systems.
  • Exceptional Report Writing and Documentation Skills to ensure audit readiness and provide clear references for stakeholders.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Nursing, Health Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated progress towards or completion of a professional insurance qualification such as AIIK, ACII, or an equivalent certification.

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in medical underwriting within an insurance or health management environment.
