Position Overview

The Store Keeper is a crucial role responsible for the efficient receiving and issuance of products to and from the store. This position also involves facilitating the procurement of items not in stock and maintaining accurate records of all stores operations. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, organized, and ensure the smooth flow of inventory.


Key Job Responsibilities

  • Issue out materials from stores strictly as per approved requisitions.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for items not currently in stock.
  • Receive purchased goods and meticulously verify that quantities match what was requested.
  • Arrange products received systematically in their allocated space.
  • Ensure that the Goods Received Note (GRN) and Bin cards are well updated immediately upon receiving products.
  • Compile all documents (LPO, Invoice, and delivery note) that are well signed by authorized persons, and hand them over to the accounts office after verifying that all information matches the actual goods received in the store.
  • Inform management of any poor-quality products bought and facilitate their rejection.
  • Participate in stock-take exercises as guided for both daily and monthly stock takes.
  • Maintain all records as guided by operating procedures, ensuring Bin cards, Requisitions, GRN, and internal system records accurately reflect the physical stock count.
  • Ensure that the store is at all times maintained clean and neat.
  • Ensure no unauthorized persons are in the store, maintaining security and control.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Purchasing & Supplies.
  • Minimum 2 years’ Stores Management experience.
  • Prior experience in the Retail industry will be an added advantage.
