Job Summary

The County Government of Lamu is seeking a qualified and dedicated Registered Clinical Officer III to provide essential clinical services within the county. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering quality healthcare in line with established protocols and standards, contributing to the well-being of the Lamu community.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conducting patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Diagnosing common illnesses and conditions.
  • Prescribing and administering appropriate treatment and medications according to established guidelines.
  • Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Providing health education and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Participating in health promotion and disease prevention programs.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participating in continuous professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Adhering to ethical and professional standards of practice.
  • Assisting in emergency medical care as needed.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior healthcare staff as required.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the healthcare facility.

REQUIREMENT FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, the ideal candidate Must:

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen (possess a National Identity Card/ Passport).
  • Have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines from a recognized institution: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwife, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry.
  • Possess a Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Be in possession of a valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Have a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
  • Have Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
