Job Summary

The County Government of Lamu is seeking six dedicated Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse III professionals to provide vital community-based nursing care. The successful candidates will be responsible for implementing community health programs, providing health education, and delivering essential nursing services to individuals and families within the Lamu region, contributing significantly to the overall health outcomes of the community.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Conducting community health needs assessments and identifying health priorities.
  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating community health programs and interventions.
  • Providing health education and promotion activities to individuals, families, and community groups.
  • Conducting home visits to provide nursing care and support to vulnerable populations.
  • Participating in disease surveillance and control efforts within the community.
  • Providing basic medical care and first aid in community settings.
  • Referring patients to higher-level healthcare facilities when necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records of community health activities and patient interactions.
  • Collaborating with community health workers, local leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Participating in community mobilization and health awareness campaigns.
  • Providing support and counseling on various health issues.
  • Participating in continuous professional development to enhance community health nursing skills.
  • Adhering to ethical and professional standards of practice.

REQUIREMENT FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, the ideal candidate Must:

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen (possess a National Identity Card/ Passport).
  • Have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines from a recognized institution: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwife, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry.
  • Possess a Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Be in possession of a valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Have a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
  • Have Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
