Job Summary
The Registered Clinical Officer will be responsible for taking patient history, conducting examinations, diagnosing and treating common ailments, implementing community health activities, guiding and counseling patients, and providing clinical outreach services within Migori County.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Taking patient history, conducting thorough examinations, and diagnosing and treating patients’ common ailments at outpatient or inpatient health facilities.
- Implementing community health care activities in collaboration with other health workers.
- Guiding and counseling patients, clients, and staff on health issues.
- Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health measures; referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.
- Providing clinical outreach and school health services to extend healthcare access.
- Carrying out minor surgical procedures as per training and skill; collecting and compiling clinical data; assessing, preparing, and presenting medico-legal reports.
Requirements for Appointment:
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Have relevant working experience for a minimum period of three (3) years in the public or private sector.
- Possess a Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery or clinical medicine and community health from a recognized institution.
- Hold a Certificate of registration from the Clinical Officers Council.
- Have relevant working experience of at least three (3) years from the public or private sector.
- Possess a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
- Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
