Job Summary

The Kenya Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, providing healthcare services including child health, immunization, maternal care, offering health education, and maintaining patient records within Migori County.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes to ensure quality care.
  • Providing appropriate healthcare services including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), immunization, Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV, ante-natal care, and delivery.
  • Providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and the community on identified health needs.
  • Referring patients and clients appropriately to other healthcare services.
  • Facilitating patients' admission and initiating discharge plans to ensure smooth transitions in care.
  • Maintaining accurate records on patients'/clients' health condition and care provided.
  • Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment to promote patient well-being and prevent infections.
  • Collecting and compiling data for reporting and monitoring purposes.

Requirements for Appointment:

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen.
  • Possess a Diploma in any of the following disciplines from a recognized institution: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry.
  • Hold a Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Possess a Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Have a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
