Job Summary
The Samburu County Public Service Board is inviting applications for three (3) Registered Clinical Officer (Anesthetist) positions. These critical roles involve providing specialized anesthetic services, patient care, and contributing to medical education and emergency response within Samburu County's health facilities. The successful candidates will play a vital role in ensuring safe surgical procedures and comprehensive patient management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Taking Medical history from patients.
- Examining, diagnosing, and treating patients' common ailments at both Outpatient and Inpatient Health Facilities.
- Guiding and Counseling Patients, Clients, and Staff on Health issues.
- Assessing, preparing, and presenting Medical Legal Reports as required.
- Organizing Health Management Teams and convening Health Management Committee Meetings.
- Carrying out minor surgical procedures as per training skills and collecting and compiling clinical data.
- Pre-operative preparations of Patients for Surgery.
- Administering general Anesthesia to Patients prior to medical procedures and reversing the situation.
- Monitoring, evaluating, overseeing, and providing continuous assessment of Patients before, during, and after surgery.
- Participating in management of all Patients in ICU.
- Preparing anesthetic plans and mentoring and training Students and other Staff in the Hospital.
- Performing any other duty that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine from the Kenya Medical Training College.
- Have Higher Diploma in Anesthesia from a recognized Institution.
- Be registered by the Clinical Officers' Council of Kenya.
- Valid Practicing License.
- Must be a Registered Member of the National Association of Clinical Officers Anesthetists - Kenya (NACOA -K).
- Computer skills will be an added advantage.
- At least one-year experience in a busy Hospital.
