Job Summary
The Samburu County Public Service Board is inviting applications for a Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) at the Degree Level. This vital role involves providing holistic, evidence-based nursing care to individuals across their lifespan, both within health facilities and in the community. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering exceptional patient care, promoting health education, and contributing to the overall improvement of nursing services in Samburu County.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide holistic care by carrying out risk identification and assessment of an individual throughout the lifespan.
- Assess, formulate, plan, and implement evidence-based nursing care for clients/patients.
- Provide exceptional nursing care to patients in accordance with Hospital Policies and Protocols.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by Physicians.
- Monitor Patient progress and document observations accurately.
- Educate Patients and families about Health conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
- Conduct Community Health Risk Assessment and provide outcome-based interventions.
- Document interventions, nursing outcomes, and prepare reports.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment in Patient care areas.
- Collaborate with other healthcare Professionals to ensure comprehensive Patient care.
- Handle emergency situations promptly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control Standards.
- Participate in continuous Professional Development and Training Sessions.
- Contribute to the improvement of nursing care services through feedback and innovation.
Requirements for Appointment
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (KRCHN) from a recognized Institution.
- Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Valid Nursing Council of Kenya License.
- At least 2 years of Clinical experience in a Hospital setting.
- Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized Institution.
- Experience in specialized areas such as Maternity, Pediatrics, or Critical care will be an added advantage.
