Job Summary
The Nurse will be responsible for providing healthcare services to students, managing minor illnesses and injuries, maintaining student health records, and promoting a healthy school environment. This role requires a Kenyan citizen between 30-40 years of age with a Diploma in Nursing and registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and basic medical care to students who become ill or injured at school.
- Assess students' health needs and provide appropriate care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, including medical histories and immunization records.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and school staff regarding health concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications to students according to school policy and medical orders.
- Promote health education and awareness among students and staff.
- Manage minor emergencies and make appropriate referrals for more serious medical conditions.
- Maintain a well-equipped and organized school sickbay.
- Monitor and manage communicable diseases within the school population.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with school administration on health-related policies and initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of student health information.
- Provide support and guidance to students on health and wellness matters.
- Participate in school health programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Required Qualification and Competences
- Be a Kenyan citizen between 30-40 years of age.
- Education level: KCSE minimum Mean Grade C (Plain).
- Possess a Diploma in Nursing.
- Be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
