Job Summary
The Medical Engineering Technologist III will be responsible for understanding the principles of operation, performing calibration, routine maintenance, and repairs of standard medical and hospital equipment. They will also be involved in user training, spare parts management, and supervision of technical staff under their purview within Migori County.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Appreciating the principle of operation of standard Medical and Hospital Equipment for effective maintenance and repair.
- Performing calibration, routine maintenance, and repair of medical and hospital equipment.
- Running user training courses at Health Institutions to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Ordering spare parts and consumables required for the equipment under repair.
- Supervising Technical Staff working under their guidance.
Requirements for Appointment:
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Be a holder of a Diploma Certificate in Medical Engineering from a recognized training institution.
- Have a Minimum of C Plain in KCSE.
- Demonstrate ability and competence in organizing, performing, and discharging duties and responsibilities as a Medical Engineering Technologist II.
OR
- Be a holder of a Diploma/ Higher National Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institution and have one year of relevant work experience.
- Have a registration certificate and a valid practicing license issued by the Medical Engineering Council of Kenya.
- Knowledge of ICT is an added advantage.
