Job Summary
The Nairobi Women's Hospital is seeking an experienced and qualified Lecturer - Nursing to deliver high-quality instruction, assessment, and evaluation to students in the nursing discipline. This crucial role is instrumental in training the next generation of competent and compassionate nursing professionals, ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and ethical grounding for clinical practice. Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality theoretical and practical instruction in various nursing disciplines to students, adhering to approved curricula and educational standards.
Develop and prepare comprehensive teaching materials, including lecture notes, case studies, practical manuals, assignments, and examination papers relevant to nursing education.
Assess and evaluate student performance regularly through examinations, clinical practical tests, presentations, and other assessment methods.
Provide constructive feedback to students to facilitate their learning, clinical reasoning, and academic progress in nursing.
Supervise student practical sessions, clinical rotations in various hospital units, and research activities, ensuring safety, ethical practice, and adherence to professional nursing standards.
Participate actively in curriculum development and review processes, contributing to the enhancement and modernization of nursing training programs.
Conduct academic counseling and mentorship for nursing students, guiding them in their professional development and career aspirations.
Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with the latest advancements in nursing practice, research, and effective pedagogical approaches.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
Contribute to the academic and professional development initiatives of the hospital's educational programs.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Must possess a Degree or Higher Diploma in Nursing (e.g., BScN, KRCHN, KRN, KRM) from a recognized institution.
- Must have additional training in TVET Education or Pedagogy.
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience is mandatory.
- Must be registered by the relevant professional body, specifically the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, patient care best practices, pharmacology, and various medical-surgical conditions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex medical concepts clearly and empathetically.
- Ability to effectively assess and evaluate student learning, both theoretically and in clinical settings.
- Proficiency in using teaching aids and educational technologies.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success, clinical competence, and academic integrity.
