Job Summary

The County Government of Lamu is seeking an experienced and capable Health Administrative Officer to provide leadership and expertise in the planning, organizing, and coordinating of administrative functions within the county's health sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of healthcare services and the effective management of resources in Lamu.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing administrative policies and procedures for the health department.
  • Managing and supervising administrative staff within health facilities.
  • Coordinating the preparation of budgets and monitoring expenditure for health programs.
  • Ensuring the efficient management of health records and information systems.
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration between different departments within the health sector and with other government agencies.
  • Overseeing the procurement and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Preparing reports on administrative activities and performance indicators.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Addressing administrative issues and challenges within health facilities.
  • Participating in the planning and implementation of health programs and projects.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, including community leaders and healthcare partners.
  • Contributing to the development of strategic plans for the health sector.
  • Representing the health administration in relevant forums and meetings.

REQUIREMENT FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade, the ideal candidate Must:

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen (possess a National Identity Card/ Passport).
  • Have served in the grade of Health Administrative Officer II or in a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in any of the following social sciences from a recognized Institution: Government, Anthropology, Sociology, Business Administration, Commerce, Health Economics, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Own a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
  • Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
