Job Summary
M.P. Shah Hospital is seeking dedicated Clinical Nurses to join its dynamic Specialized Clinics. Reporting directly to the Nurse Managers, these roles are pivotal in providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients within various specialized outpatient settings, aligning with the hospital's core values, including environmental sustainability. Key responsibilities encompass holistic patient care, emergency response, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, infection prevention, patient and family education, and active multidisciplinary collaboration, all while ensuring responsible and sustainable resource utilization within the clinic environment.
Duties & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, evidence-based holistic patient care in specialized clinic settings, promoting patients’ physical, mental, and social well-being, whilst actively considering environmental and resource sustainability.

Respond promptly and efficiently to medical emergencies that may arise in the clinic environment, ensuring all safety and sustainability protocols are strictly upheld.

Administer prescribed medication safely and accurately as required by the specialized clinic's patient needs, ensuring responsible use of resources and continuously monitoring for adverse effects.

Monitor and meticulously document vital signs and hydration, ensuring timely escalation of any concerns and implementing resource-conscious clinical practices during clinic visits.

Uphold strict infection prevention and control standards within the Specialized Clinics, ensuring environmentally responsible waste management in accordance with M.P. Shah Hospital’s IPC and sustainability guidelines.

Educate patients and their families comprehensively on their specific treatment plans, preventive health strategies relevant to their condition, and the critical importance of sustainable health practices for long-term well-being.

Actively collaborate with specialist physicians, other healthcare professionals, and allied health staff to deliver integrated and seamless care, supporting sustainable and efficient patient outcomes in the specialized clinic.

Conduct essential nursing procedures specific to the specialized clinic's focus (e.g., specific screenings, wound care, specialized assessments), ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and sustainable resource use.

Play a key role in ensuring that patient care aligns with M.P. Shah Hospital’s core values of excellence, compassion, and environmental sustainability within the specialized clinic setting.

Contribute proactively to the hospital’s overarching commitment to sustainable healthcare practices in all daily tasks within the Specialized Clinics.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation, ensuring comprehensive charting of clinic visits and interventions.

Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment within the Specialized Clinics to facilitate efficient and effective patient care.

Assist in coordinating patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to other departments or specialists as needed within the specialized clinic.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must possess a Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN, KRN, or KRM) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized institution.
- A Higher Diploma or specialization relevant to a specific specialized nursing unit (e.g., Oncology, Diabetes, Renal, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Must hold a Valid Nursing Council of Kenya license.
- Possession of a Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainable healthcare practices and environmental stewardship will be considered a significant added advantage.
- Strong clinical assessment skills relevant to various medical conditions managed in specialized outpatient settings.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a busy clinic environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Adaptability to different specialized clinic protocols and patient populations.
