Job Summary
The Senior Technical Advisor, Tuberculosis will provide technical leadership and coordination for Tuberculosis (TB) programs funded by Global Fund and other donors. The role aligns with Kenya’s National Strategic Plan for TB, Leprosy, and Lung Disease, ensuring effective program implementation, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Supervision, Oversight, and Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership to ensure programmatic and financial targets are met.
- Supervise, mentor, and manage TB technical staff, including Project Officers and Associates.
- Build the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for TB program implementation.
- Lead the development, review, and implementation of TB policies and guidelines.
- Oversee grant management, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Support the Ministry of Health in formulating TB diagnosis and management strategies.
- Assist in fundraising efforts through grant writing and proposal development.
Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent Amref as a TB subject matter expert in national and international forums.
- Foster strong linkages with the Government of Kenya, Global Fund, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in policy discussions, planning, and technical working groups on TB control.
- Work closely with the National TB Program to ensure project alignment with national strategies.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Strengthen M&E systems at both the Principal Recipient and Sub-Recipient levels.
- Support operational research and data-driven decision-making for program improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Medicine & Surgery (MBChB)
- Master’s Degree: Public Health or a related field
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in a healthcare NGO, focusing on TB and HIV/AIDS programs.
- Proven track record in project coordination, monitoring, and reporting.
- Hands-on experience in health program implementation and stakeholder collaboration.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
