Job Summary
The Biomedical Engineering Coordinator will oversee medical equipment management in NEST 360-supported hospitals, ensuring effective installation, maintenance, training, and system improvements. The role involves mentoring biomedical engineers, managing inventory data, promoting quality improvement, and advancing sustainable health technology practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of health technology management, from planning, dispatch, installation, and handover of medical equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track equipment uptime through timely provision of spare parts.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs (PPM & CM) by mentoring biomedical engineers.
- Conduct training sessions on NEST 360 technologies, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and device usage.
- Monitor and support quality improvement action plans to ensure their achievement and long-term sustainability.
- Collaborate with partners to integrate accessories, consumables, and spare parts (ACS) tracking into national health systems.
- Conduct monthly stock counts and data reconciliation for equipment and ACS, sharing reports with the Country Director.
- Train and support teams in Health Facility Assessment (HFA) data collection.
- Provide detailed reports on technical activities to program leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Higher National Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized institution. (A Degree in Biomedical Engineering is an added advantage.)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting.
- Valid registration with the Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya (AMEK).
- Certification in Newborn ETAT+ provider course (GIC certification is an added advantage).
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and data analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of health technology management (HTM) regulations, standards, and policies.
