Job Summary
The Medical Imaging Technologist will implement field tasks specifically in ultrasonography and assist in the review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Beyond imaging, the role involves conducting physiological exams such as Spirometry and Grip strength tests, managing digital data, and maintaining equipment. The technologist ensures high standards of infection control and supports the overall triaging and anthropometric measurements of research participants.
Key Responsibilities
Ultrasound Execution: Implement assigned field tasks in ultrasonography and assist in reviewing imaging SOPs.
Physiological Examinations: Conduct specialized tests including Spirometry, Grip strength, and Leg force assessments.
Clinical Support: Perform anthropometric measurements and participate in the triaging of research participants.
Infection Control: Maintain strict infection prevention and control standards during all field procedures.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure regular servicing and maintenance of sonography and ultrasound apparatus.
Data Management: Manage and archive digital bioimages from scans accurately to maintain research integrity.
Research Outreach: Assist in project outreach activities and the dissemination of research findings.
Field Adaptability: Work effectively under remote field conditions to meet project goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences, Radiography, or a related field (Mandatory).
Must be Registered/Licensed with the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority (KENRA) (Mandatory).
Proven experience in medical imaging techniques, specifically ultrasound (Mandatory).
Comfortable working in remote field work conditions (Mandatory).
Strong Planning and Organizational skills.
Excellent Communication and Reporting abilities for data management.
Strong Interpersonal Skills and a collaborative Team Player attitude.
