Job Summary
The Senior Physiotherapist is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the administrative, clinical, and supervisory aspects of the entire Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Service, including home care. This role involves ensuring the growth of patient volumes, maintaining clinical quality, managing resources efficiently, and providing high-quality curative services. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and a minimum of 8 years of experience, with 3 years at a management level.
Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out patient assessment, treatment, and stabilization, and specialized procedures to provide curative physiotherapy, speech, or occupational therapy services.
Ensure proper documentation and storage of patient data in line with the DPA Act 2019.
Oversee the department by providing leadership and direction in the development and implementation of effective strategies, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and support the sustainable growth of the department.
Foster the growth of patient volumes in line with annual budgets through focused delivery of high-quality care.
Lead the development of new services and initiatives that contribute to the financial sustainability and budget of the hospital.
Ensure the development and application of clinical quality management methods within the department, including adherence to safe care guidelines.
Foster good relations with physicians and other organizations to stimulate patient referrals to AAR Hospital.
Provide effective and efficient planning for the department, including effective manpower planning and review of departmental coverage.
Support learning and development opportunities for direct reports and undertake an active role in research and development initiatives.
Ensure the productive and cost-effective use of human, material, and capital resources by reviewing supplier and third-party provider contracts.
Monitor physical and environmental conditions to ensure safety from physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy.
A Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy or Master’s Degree in Business Administration/Healthcare Management is a strong advantage.
Must have valid membership/registration and hold a valid practicing license with the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists.
A minimum of 8 years of working experience, with 3 years at a management level in the healthcare sector.
In-depth knowledge of physiotherapy methods and equipment.
Strong understanding of movement, injuries, disabilities, and the ageing process.
Excellent Leadership Skills and strong communication abilities.
Proficiency in Report writing and innovative problem-solving.
