Job Summary

The Registered Clinical Officer will be responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating patients at an outpatient or inpatient health facility. This role involves implementing community health activities, guiding and counseling patients, and performing minor surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery and a valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers' Council of Kenya.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Take patient history, examine, diagnose, and treat common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient facility.

  • Implement Community Health Care activities in liaison with other health workers.

  • Guide and counsel patients, clients, and staff on various health issues.

  • Sensitize patients and clients on preventive and promotive health practices.

  • Carry out minor surgical procedures as per training and skill.

  • Collect and compile clinical data for reporting and analysis.

  • Refer patients and clients to appropriate health facilities for specialized care.

  • Adhere to all established standards of practice for Clinical Officers.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution.

  • A Certificate of Registration by the Clinical Officers’ Council.

  • A valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers' Council of Kenya.

  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Computer Skills.

  • A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values and principles of the Kenyan Constitution, 2010.

  • Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
