Job Summary

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) is seeking dedicated and qualified healthcare professionals to serve on a locum basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality, specialized care to patients in various hospital departments. These roles are essential for ensuring the continued provision of exceptional medical services and upholding the hospital's reputation as a leader in healthcare.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized medical and nursing care to patients in their respective areas of expertise.

  • Perform clinical and surgical procedures as per established hospital protocols.

  • Monitor and evaluate patient conditions, and collaborate with the medical team to adjust care plans as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and medical reports.

  • Adhere to all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control measures.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions to ensure comprehensive patient management.

  • Respond to medical emergencies promptly and efficiently.

  • Provide patient and family education on health maintenance and disease prevention.

  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff as required.

  • Ensure compliance with all professional and ethical standards in healthcare.

  • Work diligently and with a positive attitude to provide the highest level of patient care.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants will be required to meet the following minimum qualifications for their respective positions:

  • For Medical Officer Positions:

    • Must hold a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree.

    • Must have a valid Practicing License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

  • For Specialized Nursing Positions:

    • Must hold a Higher Diploma in the relevant area of specialization.

    • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing.

    • Must possess a valid Specialist Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).

  • For General Nurse Positions:

    • Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing.

    • Must have a valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).

  • For all positions: Must possess a certificate in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support).
